Martín Ruiz-Cabañas Gabriel is an attorney with approximately four years of professional experience in regulatory compliance, financial regulation, banking, and anti-money laundering, with a practice focused on private-sector clients, including regulated financial environments and digital banking. He currently serves as an Associate in the Financial and Banking practice at Bello, Gallardo, Bonequi y García, S.C., where he advises domestic and international financial institutions on regulatory compliance, AML/CFT, and banking and finance matters.
His practice focuses on compliance audits and reviews, legal and regulatory risk analysis, legal and compliance due diligence, as well as the drafting and review of policies, manuals, internal controls, and regulatory documentation. Additionally, he has in-house experience at Openbank Mexico, where he participated in the drafting, negotiation, and review of commercial, service, and technology contracts; handled regulatory matters; prepared submissions for financial authorities; and worked on the automation of legal processes. Previously, he worked at Citi Mexico in KYC/AML roles and at Grupo Modelo/AB InBev on compliance, personal data protection, antitrust, and anti-corruption matters.
