Héctor Guzmán has provided international legal consulting services in the area of personal data protection to the law firm BGBG Abogados since 2012, where he became head ofthat practice areain August 2013.
In addition, he served as “Data Protection Officer” (Chief Privacy Officer) at the Spanish Ministry of Defense for one year (2012–2013), working within the Sub-Directorate General for Information and Communications Technology—Secretariat of State for Defense.
In addition, he has provided consulting services on personal data protection to various multinational companies established in or operating within Spain across a range of sectors, including energy, banking, insurance, retail, and insurance support services, among others. The Valencian Regional Government and the Social Security IT Department. Furthermore, he participated in two studies on the proposed European Union Data Protection Regulation (First EditionandSecond Edition) coordinated byISMS Forum Spainand Data Privacy Institute.
Héctor is currently a member of the Madrid Bar Association (ICAM) and of ISMS Forum Spain, the Spanish Professional Association for Privacy (APEP), and theIbero-American Data Protection Observatory.
Similarly, Héctor Guzmán has carried out compliance and audit projects related to personal data protection for various public administrations in Spain, including theNational Energy Commission, theTax Administration Officeof the Barcelona Provincial Council, and theRegional Ministry of Social Welfare.
