Carlos Bello is a founding partner at BGBG Abogados and has extensive experience in telecommunications, broadcasting, space law, public tenders, government contracts, and international business matters. He has advised numerous domestic and foreign companies on preparing bids for public tenders both within and outside Mexico; obtaining concessions and permits; and ensuring ongoing compliance with the obligations set forth in operating permits in the telecommunications and broadcasting sectors.
In the international arena, he has represented the Federal Government on several occasions before international bodies. In addition, he has participated in several World Radiocommunication Conferences, Plenipotentiary Conferences of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), and meetings of the ITU Council. Similarly, he has participated in several meetings on satellite coordination and the negotiation of satellite treaties with Canada and the United States, as well as with regions of the Inter-American Telecommunication Commission (CITEL, the OAS’s advisory body on telecommunications matters).
On the other hand, in 2013 and 2014 he served as Legal Vice President of the Mexican Internet Association (AMIPCI), and from 2011 to 2015 he served as Alternate Director of the National Chamber for Telecommunications, Electronics, and Information Technology Industries (CANIETI). Likewise, he has served as Vice President of the IT Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce, Mexico, since 2012, and as a Council Member of the National Telecommunications Association since 2011. It is important to note that he holds the position of Council Member on behalf of BGBG and several clients.
In terms of academic affairs, he has taught Commercial Law and Constitutional Law in the Bachelor of Laws program at the Universidad Iberoamericana, as well as Telecommunications Law in the Master of Laws in International Business program at the same institution. In addition, he served as the Academic Coordinator of the Master of Laws in Telecommunications and New Technologies program at Anahuac University’s South Campus.
